New Photos: Emma Stone In 'Easy A'

Is the forthcoming Emma Stone-led teen comedy “Easy A,” the next “Mean Girls” as some (including us) have posited? AKA the last good female-driven teen comedy in theaters that didn’t make us remotely cringe? The 2004 picture is great.

While that remains to be seen, the fact that the comedy is premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival is probably not a bad sign (then again, “Jennifer’s Body” was there last year and look how that turned out).
A modern retelling of the classic story The Scarlet Letter, a swarm of new images have hit online and we thought we’d collate them all here. So far, the trailers we’ve seen are enjoyable and the lead Emma Stone is pretty damn charming.

Directed by Will Gluck (“Fired Up!”) we have some relatively high hopes as the picture boast an impressive cast that includes Stone, Patricia Clarkson, Stanley Tucci, Amanda Bynes, Thomas Haden Church, Malcolm McDowell, Lisa Kudrow, Cam Gigandet and it opens on September 17th. At the very least, it could be a mildly diverting effort for girls that isn’t condescending and hell, that’s a pretty rare thing.
