What do you get when you let RZA direct a kung fu movie he wrote with Eli Roth, presented by Quentin Tarantino? You get "Man With The Iron Fists" and as the first trailer revealed, it's not holding anything back.
Starring RZA himself, along a great cast that features Russell Crowe as the villain, wth Lucy Liu, Jamie Chung, Pam Grier and Cung Le, this one is looking to bring something quite different from the standard holiday season fare. Universal announced at Comic-Con today that the movie would be landing in theaters on November 2nd where it will face off with Oscar bait "Flight" starring Denzel Washington and Disney's family-friendly video game riffing animated fable "Wreck-It Ralph." As for 'Fists,' there's no detailed synopsis just yet, but these types of movies are generally thin on plot. This tale will center around a village blacksmith who has to defend himself and his fellow villagers. Lots of blood spills as a result.
MTV has dropped a new image from the movie featuring Lucy Liu, and if anything, it suggests that you won't want to keep your eyes closed for one second, the film promises to be a visual blitzkrieg. And at any rate, it's likely going to be a much-needed diversion from high brow awards season fare as the year winds down.
