New Pics: 'Fright Night' Remake, Taylor Lautner's 'Abduction' & Rob Zombie's 'Lords Of Salem'

Some new pics to sate your appetite for now until the full-on marketing campaigns begin for these films.

First up is Craig Gillespie‘s “Fright Night.” A remake of 1985 horror-comedy, the film boasts a strong cast, including Anton Yelchin as the lead, Toni Collette as his mother, Imogen Poots as his love interest, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as his friend Evil Ed, Dave Franco as an asshole bully, Colin Farrell as a “Jaws“-like vampire living next door and apparently a cameo from Chris Sarandon that will link everything back to the previous film. When we first heard of the project, we weren’t particularly enthusiastic, but with this talent involved, we’re definitely curious. “Fright Night” arrives on August 19th (a couple more pics below).

Next is a fresh pic from Taylor Lautner‘s attempt to break out of the “Twilight” franchise, the John Singleton directed “Abduction.” Co-starring Lily Collins as Lautner’s love interest, the story centers on a young man (the washboard stomach kid) who uncovers the truth about his life (he was kidnapped) after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website. Alfred Molina will apparently play a CIA agent while Elisabeth Röhm will play his biological Mom. Shit gets serious and the kid has to go on the run. Will that hair and those eyes save the day and solve the mystery or whatever!? Who knows/cares. Tween hearts beat faster on September 23rd.

Finally, Rob Zombie has unveiled a first look at his upcoming “The Lords Of Salem“….and yeah, whatever. The film has been brewing for a while now but began to move forward after Zombie wisely dropped out of a proposed remake of “The Blob.” The story is set in contemporary Salem, where the modern day townspeople are menaced by a coven of 300-year-old witches. Much blood letting presumably ensues. This one is actually only going in front of cameras this spring, so we don’t think it’ll hit until 2012 but who knows, maybe it’ll be cranked out in time for Halloween. [Moviefone/MTV/Movieline]
