New Poster For Michel Gondry's 'The Green Hornet' Starring Seth Rogen, Jay Chou & Black Beauty

For a superhero film starring comedy titan Seth Rogen, international pop-star Jay Chou and the beautiful Cameron Diaz directed by French favourite Michel Gondry, “The Green Hornet” has certainly defied expectations in generating little-to-no hype about its upcoming release with early trailers and promo material seemingly killing audience anticipation.

The posters unveiled thus far don’t exactly seem to be too worried about changing that conception either. Following up from the first Black Beauty-centric poster, the new poster has once again gone strong with the Green Hornet’s well-equipped choice of transportation front and center. Are they targeting the ‘Fast & Furious‘ crowd or something? It’s certainly a financially viable market to go for after the last film in that franchise grossed over $350 million worldwide but surely, with the talent involved here, they should be playing a totally different game.

Adapted for the screen by Rogen and writing partner Evan Goldberg based on the 1930’s radio serial by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker, the film will follow the story of Britt Reid (Rogen), the wealthy playboy offspring of a newspaper magnate who inherits his father’s empire and decides to team with employee Kato (Chou) to fight crime by night. Co-starring are the likes of Diaz as Britt’s love interest Casey Case, Tom Wilkinson as Britt’s father, Christoph Waltz as villain Benjamin Chunofsky as well as Edward James Olmos and Analeigh Tipton in unspecified roles.

“The Green Hornet” hits theaters in 3D on January 14th. [HollywoodNews]
