So far, it seems Disney is determined to make sure you don’t know that Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer are in “The Lone Ranger.” Okay, that’s not exactly true. We’ve had a couple of trailers so far, but in the stills department, not so much, and as you can see from the latest batch above and below, they’re going with arty and epic over celebrity.
But these two new one sheets for the movie aren’t fucking around, with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer in need of some cleansing cream and Gillette razors respectively. The adaptation of your Dad’s favorite TV show when he was a kid, it will find Native American warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) and badge-wearing John Reid (Armie Hammer) brought together to fight bad guys and ride trains and horses and stuff. It’s kinda “Pirates Of The Caribbean” on land, if we’re being glib, but it does have Depp wearing feathers again, so…
Anyway, “The Lone Ranger” gets in the saddle on July 3rd.
