New Posters For 'Taken 2,' 'The Words' & 'Paddington'

nullFresh off the shadow-clad, seated brooding he was doing in the UK quadTaken 2” poster, Liam Neeson is back again in the same sort of mood, along with posters for the Sundance flick “The Words,” and a children's book adaptation from the director of “The Mighty Boosh.”

As promised, here's Liam Neeson pondering the thrill of killing, only this time standing up. The French poster puts him front and center, but from the first trailer released last week, we know Neeson will have some sort of conflict, and is in fact not pursuing that stand-up career he was pondering. Istanbul is the place this time, as Neeson and his wife (Famke Janssen) are revenge-napped by the father of some lackey killed in the first film, and it appears the Irishman won't be too thrilled about that either when the Olivier Megaton-directed film opens on October 5th.

With a solid cast in the form of Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Olivia Wilde, Jeremy Irons and Dennis Quaid, “The Words” appeared to match its potential when it premiered at Sundance earlier this year. We weren't thrilled about it, giving the Brian Klugman/Lee Sternthal-directed film a C for its lack of emotional depth masked by narrative thrills, but take a look at the new U.S. poster before its release on September 7th.

Finally, director Paul King made a name for himself helming episodes of “The Mighty Boosh,” before porting that show's same homemade aesthetic over to features with “Bunny and the Bull.” While that film was massively ambitious both narratively and visually, it didn't quite work overall, but news that King has tackled an adaptation of author Michael Bond's “Paddington” series sounds promising indeed. Following an orphaned bear in Peru, the series of children's books nevertheless garnered a huge adult following for its satiric view on U.K. middle class manners, and now a teaser poster has arrived to seal the deal. Enjoy it below, and catch up on the books before the film's release in 2014. [FirstShowing/HeyUGuys/BleedingCool]nullnullnull
