It’s been a pretty good summer for both audiences and studios for horror films. “The Conjuring 2,” “Lights Out,” and “The Purge: Election Year” were all big hits, and seemed to mostly be well-received by their intended crowds. So can “Evil Dead” reboot director Fede Alvarez draw the season to a close with another winner? He’s certainly going to try with “Don’t Breathe.”

Starring Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, and Stephen Lang, the film has a pretty simple premise. A group of no-good teens decide to try and rob the home of a blind man, only to discover they are in way, way over their head. This seems like a pretty stylish effort from Alvarez, and one you likely don’t want to know too much about going in, but when a trailer pullquote promises a picture that’s like “Hitchcock on crack,” it’s one that’s hard to ignore.
“Don’t Breathe” arrives on August 26th.
