In an era of selfies and constant logging of our every activity on social media, it only makes sense that the latest incarnation of Peter Parker in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” would document his adventures. And the new trailer for the film finds the web-slinger cleverly filming his appearance in the epic battle of “Captain America: Civil War.”
As for the rest of the promo, it’s a brief sizzle reel of what to expect in the upcoming superhero flick, which if all goes well, will kick off a new universe of movies for Sony, who are collaborating with Marvel on this effort. Here’s the official synopsis:
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark. Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
Starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Jon Favreau, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr., “Spider-Man: Homecoming” opens on July 7th.
