New 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Poster Sees Our Favorite Webslinger Return To The Skies Of Sunkissed New York

nullAfter a couple of darker marketing efforts, "(500) Days Of Summer" helmer Marc Webb's upcoming "The Amazing Spiderman" has now turned to an image synonymous with marketing for Sam Raimi's films: our favorite webslinger, played here by Andrew Garfield, high above a sunkissed New York City skyline. It might be nostalgia, or the superhero's iconography, but you know what? It works.

Due to unveil in a couple of weeks, the film sees Garfield star opposite the much-loved Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, with the new Peter Parker in high school and headed on an action-packed path to square off against Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard (played by Rhys Ifans). Martin Sheen and Sally Field co-star as Uncle Ben and Aunt May, but perhaps the most interesting addition (at least to this writer) is funny-man Denis Leary as Gwen's NYPD police captain father, George.

Below is the new poster along with a couple of posters from Raimi's first two flicks as a point of comparison. "The Amazing Spider-Man" opens on July 3rd. [Twitter]nullnull
