New Trailer For 'Goon: Last Of The Enforcers'

The 2011 Canadian hockey comedy “Goon” did pretty well up north, which isn’t a surprise given that, for more than half the year, hockey is king. What is surprising is that south of the border, the slight, and frankly not very good movie earned a cult following. Granted, it’s a very small cult, but, nonetheless, it’s enough that the sequel, “Goon: Last Of The Enforcers,” is making its way to cinemas stateside after playing in Canada.

Seann William Scott, Alison Pill, Marc André Grondin, Wyatt Russell, Callum Keith Rennie, Jason Jones, Jay Baruchel (who also directs), Elisha Cuthbert, Kim Coates, and Liev Schreiber all star in the movie that follows former enforcer Doug Glatt as he is lured from a quiet family life back onto the ice. Here’s the official synopsis:

After one too many injuries, hockey enforcer Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott) is forced to give up his aspirations of going to the big show and settle into a buttoned down career as an insurance salesman at the urging of his pregnant wife Eva (Alison Pill). However, Doug can’t resist the siren call of the Highlanders, so he sets course to reclaim his former glory.

“Goon: Last Of The Enforcers” opens in theaters and on Digital HD on September 1st.
