New Trailer For 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Sees Peter Parker Going From High School To Hero

Sony is so confident they’ll have a hit with “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (thanks to a helping hand from Marvel), they’re wasting no time in setting up spinoff films. Venom and Silver Sable and Black Cat will have their own movies, and while the studio was burned before in putting the cart before the horse with “The Amazing Spider-Man,” they’ll likely do everything to avoid a second faceplant. It’s all very serious business, but one person having a bit of fun with it all is Michael Keaton, who plays the villain Vulture. According to Tom Holland, the actor kept referencing his previous superhero role on set.

“He’s a badass. We have a fight in the movie and I punch him. He turns around and says [in a deep voice], ‘I’m Batman.’ He kept doing Batman quotes on set,” Holland told ShortList. Here’s the official synopsis:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Co-starring Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr., “Spider-Man: Homecoming” opens on July 7th.
