When the rumblings of a second season of “Top Of The Lake” emerged last year, one of the first names linked — and quickly denied — was Nicole Kidman. Well, it turns out those initial reports were right, and with filming gearing up to get underway soon, the rest of the cast for the new season is being rounded up.
Liv Hewson is also boarding the series along with the previously announced Gwendoline Christine, David Dencik, Alice Englert and Ewen Leslie, who are coming along with Kidman and joining the returning Elisabeth Moss for “Top Of The Lake” season two. Jane Campion is back as well, co-directing with Gerald Lee, and marking her third collaboration with Kidman following “The Portrait Of A Lady” and “In The Cut.”
“Top Of The Lake: Series Two,” will continue four years after season one, and will see Moss’ Detective Robin Griffin digging into a mystery when a body washes up on the shore of Bondi Beach.
Rehearsals are now underway, so it’s probably a safe bet ‘China Girl’ will be on some kind of small screen next year. [Deadline]
