Nicole Kidman To Reunite With 'The Paperboy' Helmer Lee Daniels For 'The Butler'

Nicole KidmanWith their teaming on "The Paperboy" set to unveil this Thursday at Cannes, it seems Lee Daniels and Nicole Kidman aren't sick of each other's company just yet, with the two lining up a reunion on the helmer's next project, "The Butler."

Word around Cannes is that Kidman is set to join the project which will see Forest Whittaker star as White House butler Eugene Allen, who served for 34 years under 8 different presidents. Kidman's 'Paperboy' co-stars David Oyelowo and Matthew McConaughey are also part of the cast along with Oprah Winfrey, Terrence Howard, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda and Cuba Gooding Jr

Daniels is apparently squeezing as many big name actors in as possible with some parts only eventuating into cameo-like roles. This may explain why there's still question marks surrounding several actors previously linked including Liam Neeson (who Daniels has wanted to play Lyndon B. Johnson in both this and his "Selma" project) and fellow 'Paperboy' star John Cusack (linked to the role of Ronald Reagan that Rickman seems to have taken), although names like Hugh Jackman and Mila Kunis, who were mentioned a while back, seem to be well and truly off the radar now.

Production on "The Butler" is set to begin this July based on a script by Danny Strong, who scribed HBO political films "Game Change" and "Recount." [ScreenDaily]
