No CD? Make Your Own 'Step Brothers' Soundtrack

There’s no soundtrack for the demented Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly comedy “Step Brothers.” But as we noted in our review, there’s a lot of pop-music in the film.

Unfortunately, Sony and or the powers that be decided to not release a soundtrack disc. At least not yet. As previously noted Jon Brion composed the score and enlisted members of Wilco and Deerhoof to help him out on a couple of tracks as well. You might not be able to buy the thing and or acquire the songs written by Brion and some covers sung by Will Ferrell (his sonorous cover of Bonnie Raitts “Let’s Give ‘Em Something To Talk About” for example), but at least you’ll have a shot at putting together an approximate “Step Brothers” playlist. Here’s all the songs featured in the movie. Have at it. Let’s hope one day someone like Lakeshore Records, who released a soundtrack to Sony’s “Pineapple Express,” will see fit to let us hear something like John C. Reilly singing “Hairy Balls.”
