Noah Baumbach & Jake Paltrow Are Working On A Secret Documentary Project

With “Greenberg” failing to light up the box office and having departed the gestating children’s film “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” earlier this year, we were wondering what director Noah Baumbach would be getting to next. Among the projects he has potentially on his plate are the book adaptations “The Emperor’s Children” with Keira Knightley, Eric Bana and Richard Gere attached and the coming of age tale “Prep,” which has a completed script. But with those seemingly on the backburner, Baumbach apparently has something else up his sleeve.

Showbiz 411 reports that Baumbach and Jake Paltrow (yes, the brother of Gwyneth) are working on a secret documentary that has already been shooting in New York and will be filming in Los Angeles this week. So what’s it about? Roger Friedman tried to get some information out of a tripod-carrying Paltrow at LAX, but got nothing from him so we’ll just have to wait and see.

So what is the connection between Paltrow and Baumbach? Well Paltrow, who is normally found behind the camera (“The Good Night”), had his first small role in “Greenberg” so it’s probably safe to say the two directors hit it off. Baumbach is one of our favorites so we can’t wait to see what he and Paltrow have been up to.
