Its been smooth sailing recently for character actor Noah Emmerich, featuring in a number of high-profile projects including "Fair Game," "The Walking Dead," "Super 8" as well as "Warrior." The actor now looks to be continuing that trend having booked two new roles including a part in a star-studded crime-drama and a small screen re-teaming with regular collaborator, Gavin O'Connor.
Firstly, Emmerich is in talks to join Gallic multi-hyphenate Guillaume Canet on his English-language debut "Blood Ties," which already boasts the stellar cast of Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotillard, Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis and James Caan. He'll play a "guy who straddles the good and the dark side" much like one of the protagonists (Owen) who is asked by his younger brother (Crudup) to return to the underworld in order to help their family. Barring any financing troubles, lensing will begin next month in New York.
Having played a small but important role in the first season of hit AMC zombie-thriller 'Walking Dead,' Emmerich will now also return to the small screen on FX's drama pilot "The Americans." Helmed by his "Pride & Glory" and "Warrior" director O'Connor, the pilot stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys and follows two KGB spies posing as Americans in suburban Washington, DC in the early 1980s. Emmerich plays a neighbor who happens to be a Counter Intelligence FBI agent (what are the chances!?) and grows suspicious of the couple. "Justified" showrunner Graham Yost is exec producing.
