After winning the coveted Golden Lion at this year’s Venice Film Festival, Chloe Zhao’s “Nomadland” finally hits select theaters as it looks to be one of the most talked-about films of 2020 and a sure-thing awards contender. Frances McDormand stars in the film as a woman that has seemingly lost everything in her life and decides the best course of action is to build a make-shift RV out of a cargo van and hit the open road, meeting some of the most interesting people along the way.

The second film that is being discussed is Thomas Vinterberg’s “Another Round,” which stars Mads Mikkelsen as a history teacher that, along with his buddies, decides that staying perpetually drunk is the way to improve his life and his career. As you might suspect, things don’t necessarily turn out the way he hoped and the film pays off in a big, big way in the final scene, which will have you jumping out of your seat.
