We have apparently run out of Stephen King projects to put into development, so Hollywood has started working on his son’s books. Obviously, we’re joking, as Joe Hill, while the son of King, is a quality horror writer all on his own, with many best-sellers under his belt. And one of those novels, “NOS4A2,” is about to make its debut as a 10-episode series on AMC.
And in the first teaser for the series, we don’t get much in the way of plot, but we do get to see some creepy imagery and hints as to what’s to come. And yes, much like his father, it appears that Hill has plenty of horrifying ideas in his head. Luckily, with the success of “The Walking Dead,” AMC has proven itself very capable at taking horror properties and turning them into successful TV series. Albeit, with ‘Walking Dead,’ maybe it’s gone on a bit too long? But I digress.
For those not familiar with the series (or the novel), “NOS4A2” tells the story of a young lady with the incredible gift to track the seemingly immortal Charlie Manx. And as this is a horror series, Manx isn’t the nicest of guys. He’s actually the type of guy that likes to feed off the souls of children, and deposit their bodies in a Christmas-themed village. Yeah, pretty gruesome stuff.
The series stars Ashleigh Cummings, Zachary Quinto, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Virginia Kull, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
“NOS4A2” premieres on AMC sometime this summer.
Here’s the synopsis for the series:
The supernatural horror series NOS4A2, based on Joe Hill’s bestselling novel of the same name, tells the story of Charlie Manx, a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Manx finds his whole world threatened when a young woman in New England discovers she has a dangerous gift.
