We had some friends at the ground floor of the MTV Video Music Awards last year and they reported that Russell Brand and Britney Spears collaborator Jonah Hill, were doing pre-production work on the same lot for the upcoming “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” sorta-sequel, ” “Get Him to the Greek”; taking advantage of access to some the female musicians by shooting vignettes with the likes of Pink, Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera.
Now Rolling Stone reports that Oasis’ Liam and Noel Gallagher might have cameos in the Judd Apatow-produced picture as well. They might all get up to no good too. Snow’s character in the film falls off the wagon and gets into all kinds of debauchery. “I was able to give advice on smuggling drugs, scoring drugs, casual self-harm, self-indulgence, bordellos, brothels, life under bridges and heads in the clouds,” Brand said of being over-qualified for the film role (he had his own real-life drug and sex addiction problems once).
“Get Him to the Greek” is actually more of a spin-off of “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” that focuses entirely on Brand’s over the top rock star character Aldous Snow. Jonah Hill plays an “out of college insurance adjuster hired to accompany an out-of-control rock star (Brand) from London to a gig at L.A.’s Greek Theater.” Last we heard the film was supposed to shoot this spring, but we haven’t heard any recent news other than this in months. The Gallaghers are perfect jackasses for this. Let’s just hope that they actually have a sense of humor.
