Although the show will be missing the month’s famed “Star Wars” celebration day of May 5th, the grand return of one of the franchise’s most beloved characters is almost here. Directed by Deborah Chow of “The Mandalorian,” written by Joby Harold of “Army of the Dead,” with cinematography from frequent Park Chan-wook collaborator Chung Chung-hoon, and music from Natalie Holt and John Williams, the second trailer for “Obi-Wan Kenobi” has arrived for its eagerly-anticipating fans.

Despite the real possibility with the forthcoming series is how the grand return of Ewan McGregor as the titular Jedi Master might not even be its most exciting appearance. Also starring in the show is Hayden Christensen, better known as Anakin Skywalker, and in the context of this show, ultimate “Star Wars” baddie Darth Vader. A teaser for the show back in November has already confirmed that, like the two did in “Revenge of the Sith” and would do again in “A New Hope,” Obi-Wan and Darth Vader will clash lightsabers in what is certain to be a must-see rematch.
With the overwhelming critical and fan success of the Disney+ live-action shows “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett,” a show taking place between “Episode III” and “Episode IV” of the franchise with such iconic characters may possibly top them both. As is always the case with any story in “Star Wars,” viewers can anticipate an adventure of the dark side and the light, with villains and heroes new and old to love or loathe. With only a month to go before the show kicks off, this new trailer hopefully only breeds further enthusiasm and anticipation.
Starring Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, Rupert Friend, Moses Ingram, Sung Kang, Kumail Nanjiani, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Benny Safdie, “Obi-Wan Kenobi” premieres on Disney+ with its first two episodes on May 27th. Watch the new trailer below.
