Oscar Isaac & Boba Fett At The Center Of Latest 'Star Wars: Episode 7' Rumors

Inside Llewyn DavisWith Harrison Ford‘s broken limb fueling its own set of rumors about the status of "Star Wars: Episode 7," a fresh batch of speculation about the highly anticipated sequel is making the rounds. And yes, this is going to be the way it is until actual news about the movie arrives closer to the release date which at the moment is far, far away next year.

So let’s begin with Latino Review, who are putting it out there that Mandalorians and a Sith Witch (or more) will feature in the sequel somehow. So why should you care about any of this? Well, Boba and Jango Fett wore Mandalorian armor, even if they weren’t technically Mando born, so… maybe there will be some connection to those characters here? We’ll see. Boba Fett is also rumored for a spinoff too, and even though those standalone films aren’t supposed to tie into the main narrative of the saga, things can change.

Meanwhile, NY Post—in the wake for FordLegGate—is hearing that Oscar Isaac‘s role is being expanded to keep things moving along. Of course, Disney denies this saying, “Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates, adding that any talk of Isaac’s role being beefed up is “categorically not true.”  But perhaps more telling, and what we already guessed, is that there is no way Disney is shifting release dates unless circumstances basically become tragically unable to be remedied. “Shutting down the movie is impossible,” a source told the paper adding, “The basic story line will not change that much.” Basically, they’ll probably just rejigger the shooting schedule to work around Ford.

Lastly, it’s not like you believed them (we hope), but Tom Cruise‘s PR folks have knocked down rumored reports that he would cameo in the movie.

Continue to worry about the status of "Star Wars: Episode 7" until December 18, 2015.
