Calling it "a remarkable accomplishment that won’t be forgotten anytime soon," we were pretty taken with Richard Linklater‘s "Boyhood" when we saw it at the Sundance Film Festival in January. And as the film draws closer to hitting theaters, much more is surfacing about the content of the drama, including the massive list of tunes in the movie, and now a batch of new images.
While Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette are the more well known names in the film, it’s carried on the shoulders of newcomer Ellar Coltrane. He was chosen to be the boy we see become a man in the movie, with Linklater gathering his cast for a few days every year for over ten years to track the tale of a family and coming of age. And by most accounts, the results are remarkable, with viewers getting to see the characters age in "real time" on screen, as relationships grow, fracture and mature.
Check out the new pics below to get a sense of the scope of time and see "Boyhood" starting on July 11th.
