You know them, you love them…or maybe you hate them? Regardless, it’s common knowledge that you can’t make a superhero film without adding a post-credits tease at the end. And though critics noticed the distinct lack of one at the end of their screeners for “Wonder Woman 1984,” director Patty Jenkins assured fans, in a recent episode of the Reel Blend podcast, that there is most definitely a post-credits scene to her latest superhero blockbuster.

“Yes,” Jenkins said confirming the existence of a post-credit scene when asked. “Let it be something to save for the audience. God forbid, somebody writes about it you’re like, ‘well then what fun was it!?'”
Whether you’re an average joe who hasn’t seen the film yet or a critic with access to a screener, Jenkins confirmed the post-credits scene would be on both the streaming and theatrical version on December 25. So we’ll all have a chance to watch it together.
If you’re guessing what it might be, don’t expect it to necessarily tie-into the DCEU. She discussed Joss Whedon‘s “Justice League” movie a little bit and didn’t have the kindest words about it, though was diplomatic.
“That ‘Justice League’ was an outlier,” she said. “They were trying to turn one thing into another, so I don’t recognize half these characters, I’m not sure what’s going on.”

But enough of about “Wonder Woman 1984,” let’s talk about the future. Sure, that film is still not released, but fans are already anxiously awaiting news about “Wonder Woman 3,” which Jenkins has been teasing for a while now, in addition to her Amazonian spinoff film. But apparently, we shouldn’t be holding our breath for those projects, as they might still be far off. (Remember, she has that little indie project, “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron,” on her plate next.)
“It’s interesting, I can actually came up with a story, and Geoff Johns and I beat out an entire story for ‘Wonder Woman 3’ that we were super fired up about, but I’ve never felt this way before as much as I do now,” she explained, teeing up her reasons. “I sort of—, I don’t think I’m doing it next and so I have to sort of wait and see where we are in the world, you know? What I wanted to talk about in [‘WW84’] was very prescient to what I was feeling and what you were sort of feeling was coming. So now I’m not sure. So much has changed in the world.”
She continued. “I still love the story, I’m sure parts of it, would come over to it, but… I’m trying to say [to myself], ‘Don’t decide. Don’t fall in love with anything. What would Wonder Woman do now? Like, what are you craving Wonder Woman to do now in this world?”
She doesn’t explicitly say it, but the delay, and her pausing on the story is likely due to “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” which already has a release date of Christmas 2023. Surely, she’s going to go full blast on getting that ready that script ready and then ready to shoot.
