Paul Rudd, Craig Roberts & Selena Gomez Hit The Road In New 'The Fundamentals Of Caring' Trailer

Netflix might be ruling the TV waves, but we’re still waiting for the first film of theirs to truly make a big cultural impact. “Beasts Of No Nation” was very good, but didn’t live up to the awards expectations put on it, Adam Sandler’s two movies to date have been terribly reviewed, and we’re not sure anyone actually watched the “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” sequel.

Could “The Fundamentals Of Caring” be their first crossover hit? Directed by Rob Burnett, based on a novel by Jonathan Evison, it’s a comedy-drama in the “Little Miss Sunshine” or “Me & Earl & the Dying Girl” mould, which sees a greiving man (Paul Rudd) become a caregiver for a sex-obsessed teen (Craig Roberts) with muscular dystrophy, and set out to visit America’s strangest tourist attractions.

Also starring Selena Gomez and Jennifer Ehle, the film was one of the starrier entries at Sundance this year, and one of the most high-profile sales, and it’s not difficult to see why — we’d watch Rudd and Roberts play off against each other in almost anything. With the film debuting on Netflix this Friday, the streaming giant have released a new trailer for the film: watch it above, and stream the film from June 24th.
