For Pedro Almodovar, it’s all about game recognizing game. He’s recently put his name and producing power on Damián Szifrón‘s "Wild Tales" and on Lucrecia Martel‘s upcoming "Zama," and now the filmmaker is supporting another arthouse fave by getting behind one of their forthcoming projects.
Almodovar will co-produce a currently untitled movie, that will be in both English and Spanish, and directed by "A Separation" and "The Past" helmer Asghar Farhadi. There are no story details yet, but both American and Spanish actors will be cast in the movie, with production slated to begin in Spain in October 2016. So what will Farhadi be doing until then? Cranking out another movie.
The filmmaker is expected to shoot his seventh film in Iran shortly, but again, there are no details on that movie either. But two movies in two years from Farhadi? Yep, I’ll gladly take that. [Iran Daily]
