Pete Segal To Direct Old People Boxing Flick 'Grudge Match'

While the talk of Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone starring in this has quieted down, development continues to movie forward on “Grudge Match” as Pete Segal has been brought on board to direct.

“Grudge Match” follows the story of two retired boxers, Billy “The Kid” McGuigan and Henry “Razor” Sharp, lifelong bitter rivals who are coaxed out of retirement and into the ring for one final grudge match 50 years after their last title fight. Word is that the characters in the script are approximately 60ish years old (which would make them 10 when their title fight happened, so obviously some of this info has been or will be changed soon), but if you ever longed to see two olds fighting it out, America, here is your chance.

The film is aiming for a tone similar to “Space Cowboys” (God help us) and with the director of “Tommy Boy” and “50 First Dates” teaming up with Tim Kelleher, writer of the Sinbad vehicle “First Kid” this thing has FAIL written all over it.
