Marvel’s new Spider-man, Tom Holland, has joined Daisy Ridley (aka Lucasfilm’s Rey) in the upcoming “Chaos Walking,” and the two will likely have lots to talk about. Both are young actors who have seen their careers ascend at a phenomenal pace thanks to their latest blockbuster roles, and if things go according to plan, they’ll have yet another franchise if this picture does well.
Based on the first book in Patrick Ness‘ “Chaos Walking” series, the film has Doug Liman directing the story of Todd Hewitt and Viola Eade that’s set on an Earth-like planet that humans have colonized. When an infection called The Noise sweeps through that causes everyone to be able hear each other’s thoughts, Todd discovers a space of rare silence, only to find out somehow Viola is able to create the noise-free space, and the two are forced to go on the run.
Both Charlie Kaufman and Jamie Linden (“We Are Marshall,” “Money Monster“) have tackled the script, and while there’s no start date just yet, it’ll presumably be when both Holland and Ridley have space in their schedules between making their respective four-quadrant movies. [THR]
