Pink To Star In Sex Addiction Dramedy 'Thanks For Sharing'

Patrick Fugit Rounds Out The Cast

Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins, Gwenyth Paltrow, Joely Richardson, Josh Gad and…Pink? Oops sorry, Alecia Moore. That’s the name the pop singer is going by for her first major part in a leading film and yes, Class 5 Films and Olympus Pictures announced today that she has joined the upcoming sex addiction dramedy “Thanks For Sharing.”

Unlike Steve McQueen‘s forthcoming, Michael Fassbender dong baring “Shame,” this film from “The Kids Are All Right” writer Stuart Blumberg (who is also making his directorial debut), will be a bit of a lighter take on the subject, following three people who become unlikely friends while undergoing a 12-step treatment for sex addiction. Paltrow will play a businesswoman who becomes romantically (and presumably sexually) involved with Ruffalo, with Richardson taking a role as Robbins’ wife. Meanwhile, Gad will portray Neil, a sex addict who cheats his way through recovery programs until Ruffalo’s character becomes his sponsor and helps straighten him out. And Pink will play Dede, a kindred spirit of Neil, which probably means she’s addicted to sex as well.

If Blumberg can approach the topic with the same measured hand of drama and humor that made “The Kids Are All Right” such a treat, we’ll definitely be excited to see how this turns out. Lensing is already underway, and if you look below, that’s a picture of Pink Alecia Moore on the set on the set of the movie. Patrick Fugit rounds on the cast for the Edward Norton produced film. No word yet on release dates, but expect this to do the festival circuit route in 2012 as it hunts down a distributor.
