The Playlist On MTV's Subterranean Blog Podcast

Our good friends over at MTV2’s Subterranean Blog (they program the on-air show, yes they still play cool indie videos Friday at 1:00 a.m. ET, and run the blog), asked us to sit down for their weekly podcast this week.

We’ve been meaning to get into the business of doing podcasts for sometime now. They’re a fun little thing to do and Courtney, who runs the Sub blog (and contributes to our little blog here and there when she has time), and I had a fun little chat about all kinds of thing, but mostly about music in movies, hence the reason she asked us to be the guest this week.

We talk the “Twilight” soundtrack, and the strange politics surrounding the inclusion of many of its bands, movie-music moments in film in 2008 (highlighting Harmony Korine’s “Mister Lonely” for one), the best films of 2008, and films to watch out for in 2009 (Spike Jonze’s “Where The Wild Things Are,” and Greg Mottola’s “Adventureland”). We also talk about Wolf Parade, the Montreal indie-rockers whose second album At Mount Zoomer was a bit of a let down (it’s kind of funny how we can’t remember squat about the details of of Wolf Parade, their album titles, their members, etc.). The podcast also features songs by Holy Hail, Paper Route, TV on the Radio’s side project Iran and Wolf Parade.

Forgive our inarticulateness, we were feeling a little under the weather, you can kind of hear it in our voice.
