Porn Site Offers To Produce 'Sense8' Season 3

Earlier this year, Netflix pulled the plug on “Sense8” after two seasons. But after fan petitions and outcry, the streaming service made a deal to let the Wachowskis produce a two-hour series finale, to wrap things up. However, another streaming service, in a very particular niche, is extending an olive branch to the show’s creators to keep “Sense8” going.

xHamster has penned an open letter, offering to produce a third season of “Sense8.”  Lana Wachowski recently revealed she was going ahead and writing the a new season, and the porn site is offering to be the admittedly unconventional home for the sci-fi show. Their pitch includes noting that xHamster gets more daily visitors than The New York Times, Daily Mail, or ESPN, as well as highlighting their support for non-normative sexual rights, alliance with LGTBQ causes, and more.

If you’re thinking this is a PR stunt, ScreenCrush reached out to xHamster, who clarified this is something they really want to do, offering this statement:

We’re huge admirers of the show, as are many of our fans. Obviously, for both us and the Wachowskis this would be a big move, and the logistics would need to be worked out. This isn’t just about switching a network, this is about switching the way a show is delivered, and thus how the show is produced and what is produced. Does it open up possibilities for the storyline if the show is moved away from a mainstream corporation and onto a platform that’s not sex-phobic? Does a mainstream audience feel comfortable moving to a platform known for adult? What we admire about the Wachowskis, and about the show itself is that it takes risks. I think that we’re a nascent network, and I’d love to hear what they would do with us.

While it’s a bold proposition, this will probably never happen, because it would involve convincing a bunch of production companies to team up with a porn site.
