Working at a morgue is already creepy enough. Surrounded by nothing but dead bodies, the location is ripe for your imagination to run wild and scare the crap out of you. So, what happens when you’re starting a new job in the morgue and you think that one of those cadavers is possessed and trying to come after you? Yeah, that’s never good.
In the first trailer for “The Possession of Hannah Grace,” you meet a young woman named Megan (Shay Mitchell) who is lucky to work the graveyard shift at the morgue. We’re not really shown much about her previous issues, but it’s clear that Megan is hoping to overcome her past with a fresh start. Well, that’s all thrown out the window when an EMT brings in a new dead body of a girl named Hannah Grace. You see, Hannah didn’t just die of natural causes. No, the young lady died while her family attempted an exorcism. So, when Megan and Hannah’s corpse are locked in the morgue, all hell breaks loose as the technician starts to believe that the evil spirit in Hannah might be out to get her.
“The Possession of Hannah Grace” seems to be following the formula that has been dominating the horror genre, as of late. Small budget, unknown cast, pretty decent premise, and jump-scares galore leading to box office gold.
We’ll have to see if Sony has a surprise hit on its hands when “The Possession of Hannah Grace” hits theaters on November 30.
Here’s the synopsis:
A shocking exorcism spirals out of control, claiming the life of a young woman. Months later, Megan Reed (Shay Mitchell) is working the graveyard shift in the morgue when she takes delivery of a disfigured cadaver. Locked alone inside the basement corridors, Megan begins to experience horrifying visions and starts to suspect that the body may be possessed by a ruthless demonic force.
