Rest up this Labor Day weekend, generally the quietest movie-going frame of the year, because once September is in full swing, it will be week after week of movies both big and small hitting the mulitplex. To get you in the mood, we’ve got some new images from titles that will be coming your way.

First up is “Machete Kills,” Robert Rodriguez‘s low-budget sequel to the low-budget “Machete,” that once again brings B-movie sleaze to the mainstream. Danny Trejo returns — Machete does sequels — with new babes (Amber Heard), and faces (Antonio Banderas, Demian Bichir, Cuba Gooding Jr.), all getting into the grindhouse game. You can see pics of all of them below. This one opens on October 11th.

Poised easily to be the biggest blockbuster of the season, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is coming to conquer with Jennifer Lawrence leading the way, along with a band of familiar friends — Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth and Lenny Kravitz. And oh yeah, the outrageous costuming is here too — you gotta look good when living in a dystopian society. Katniss will once again fight for her life or something in this middle installment which hits on November 22nd. [Page To Premiere]

Lastly, it’s Denis Villeneuve‘s “Prisoners” and this is one you’ll want to go ahead and put down as a “must-see” in September. Buzz is building for the Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman starring thriller which sneak screens in Telluride today — is it just going to be another solid fall programmer for Warner Bros. like “The Town” or does it have the muscle to go even further? We’ll know soon enough. “Prisoners” arrives on September 20th.
