Pulpy New Poster For Arthouse Killer Tire Movie 'Rubber' Debuts

Those of you waiting for a theatrical release of Quentin Dupieux’s killer tire flick “Rubber,” will be able to scratch that itch in about a month. For those too impatient, the film is currently playing on Video On Demand. The gonzo film directed by Dupieux also known as Mr. Oizo, the French electro musician who also provides the score, has been making the rounds at festivals from Cannes to Fantastic Fest and picking up mostly positive reviews. We were pretty impressed with the trailer so our fingers are crossed that it is the definitive killer tire movie of our generation. With the film now out on VOD and the theatrical date just around the corner, the distributor Magnet has just released a new poster for the film which you can see below.

Where the first poster by designer Olly Moss went for an arty minimalist look, the new one from painter Boris Vallejo plays up the film’s B-movie premise with some added sex appeal. That should get those VOD orders rolling in. Vallejo is previously responsible for posters for classic B-movies like “Barbarella” and “Barbarian Queen” as well as the first two films in the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” series. More recently you may have seen his work on the ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force’ movie. You have to give credit to any movie these days whose poster features original artwork (instead of the usual Photoshop rush-job) and “Rubber” has got two of them. So, bravo to Magnet on this one.

The film is now available on Video On Demand and will be in select theatres April 1st. [via Collider via Hey U Guys]
