With “Bond 23” officially on hold until MGM crawl out of their financial mess, producers Parkes MacDonald and Imagenation are going to put “Quantum of Solace” and “Casino Royale” co-writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade to work.
The duo have been hired to write a screenplay based on an idea by based on a concept from producers Michael Lieber and Walter Parkes. The film “takes place among the nomadic Taureg tribes of West Africa, an area rich with uranium that has become a focal point for both energy companies and terrorist states. An American anthropologist is thrust into this geopolitical mess when he must travel back to the Sahara to help a former research subject who has been accused of a terrorist attack.” Yeah, replace “An American antropologist” with “James Bond” and you would pretty much have the screenplay to another installment.
Obviously, this project is a long way off and in very early days but [cynicism/sarcasm turned off] this does sound potentially pretty interesting.
