Rade Sherbedgia Will Ruin Liam Neeson's Istanbul Vacation In 'Taken 2'

Oh shit, Bryan Mills is back and once again, some vaguely foreign types are gonna make him mad, and he will look for them, and will find them, and then, he will kill them with his special set of skills.

With filming set to kick off later this month, THR reports that “Taken 2” has found its villain in Rade Sherbedgia. If the name isn’t familiar, you know his face most likely from “Snatch” where he played Boris “The Blade.” He’s also popped up in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” as Gregorovitch, and he was the Russian General that January Jones provided kicks for in “X-Men: First Class.” In “Taken 2,” he’ll play Murad, the father of one of the dudes Liam Neeson killed in the first film, who is out for vengeance for the death of his son. His plan? Kidnap Bryan’s wife when they are vacationing in Istanbul. Really Bryan? You go through all that shit, you can vacation in Istanbul? You think you might’ve wanted to stay out of that part of the world altogether and go to Hawaii or something. Anyway, here’s the official synopsis from Den Of Geek:

Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.

The always subtle Olivier Megaton is directing the Luc Besson-produced film, with a release date penciled in for October 5, 2012. Awards season potential? Of course not, but a pretty good counter-programming choice.
