Ray Fisher Puts Warner Bros On Blast Again: Calls Their 'Justice League' Investigation Statements A “Sad & Desperate Game”

The back and forth messiness between actor Ray Fisher and Warner Bros. regarding the third-party investigation into abuse on the set of “Justice League” continues. Following Warner Bros. recent, late Friday night statement that Fisher had made “false statements” and had not been cooperating with investigators, Fisher fired back in tweets and called their statement a “scattershot attempt to discredit” him. But Fisher’s not done and yesterday on Instagram, went on a long 15 -minute screed against Warner Bros. and thanked his fans for backing him.

Elaborating on what he already said on Twitter, Fisher called Warner Bros.’ statements a “sad and desperate game,” and explained the studio is unaware of “how many receipts I have for interactions that I’ve had. They do not know the people that I’ve been talking to.”

Warner’s original statement said Fisher was not cooperating with investigators. While his tweets seemingly confirmed as much, he went on to explain that he’s been dubious with the studios transparency and vetting investigators and making sure they are impartial and not working for Warner Bros. (in the video he seems to be ok if they work for the subsidiary company Warner Media). Fisher claimed there are more people willing to participate in the investigation but suggested they must do so anonymously so there are no reprisals against them. Fisher said DC Films chief Walter Hamada was participating in, “a weird game, a sad and desperate game, but [a] predictable one.”

While it’s unclear what the allegations are in full, Fisher has alleged “gross,” abusive behavior on the set of “Justice League” from director Joss Whedon, DC Films creative consultant and DC comics writer Geoff Johns and producer Jon Berg.

Fisher played superhero Victor Stone / Cyborg in the 2016 superhero film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and reprised the role in the aforementioned ensemble “Justice League” (2017). Making matters more complicated in this imbroglio is the fact that Fisher is apparently still deep in negotiations to reprise his Cyborg role in the upcoming “Flash” film by Andrés Muschietti.

Fisher has already alleged that Johns threatened his career and in the Instagram video he alleged that the producer/writer also called him to “gloat” that they had included a new Cyborg character and actor in the “Doom Patrol” series that John was producing.

“[Hamada’s] excuse for the situation with Geoff Johns was, ‘Ray, I worked with Geoff on Shazam!, I don’t really think he would do that or say that,’ and I go, ‘Walter, you weren’t there. I’m telling you, you weren’t. You were not there when the man used back-channel communication to call me into his office and made the veiled threat to my career. You weren’t there for that.” “You weren’t there when Geoff Johns contacted me in 2018 – a year and a half after Justice League while I was shooting ‘True Detective’ – to gloat that there was another Cyborg being used in the DC Universe in a show that he was producing.'”

Fisher is expected to appear in “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” next year on HBO Max and it is said that his character will be greatly fleshed out in Snyder’s four-hour, four-part movie.

More is still to come from this story and investigation, including whether Fisher and Warner Bros. can agree on a third-party investigator, but obviously potentially explosive details could surface as well. Whatever the case may be, it’s clear Fisher is content to call WB’s bluff and play out this matter in the public eye for better or worse.
