When the “Jack Reacher” films were released, critics and many film fans seemed to enjoy them. The diehard fans of Lee Childs’ book series, of which the films were inspired by, were not happy. You see, Tom Cruise didn’t embody the Jack Reacher of the books. But Amazon’s here to fix that with the upcoming “Reacher” reboot series.
As seen in the first trailer for “Reacher,” the new series features a much bigger, much more muscle-y hero, played by Alan Ritchson, as he finds himself on the radar of the local police who track the former military badass as he struts into their small town. And wouldn’t you know it, he seems to be somehow linked to a string of violent crimes that are plaguing the town. But don’t worry, Jack Reacher is the good guy and is going to beat the hell out of any bad guy that gets in his way.
Joining Ritchson in the cast are Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald, Chris Webster, Hugh Thompson, Maria Sten, Harvey Guillén, Kristin Kreuk, Currie Graham, Marc Bendavid, Willie C. Carpenter, Maxwell Jenkins, and Bruce McGill. “Reacher” is written and showrun by Nick Santora, who is probably best known for his work on the Fox series, “Prison Break.”
“Reacher” is set to arrive on Amazon Prime Video on February 4, 2022. You can watch the new trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
Reacher follows Jack Reacher, a veteran military police investigator who has just recently entered civilian life. Reacher is a drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials as he travels the country and explores the nation he once served. When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years. The cops immediately arrest him and eyewitnesses claim to place Reacher at the scene of the crime. While he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will require Reacher’s keen mind and hard-hitting fists to deal with. One thing above all is for sure: They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.
