In fact, Christopher McQuarrie was quite clear that when writing "Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation," they came up with locations and action sequences first, and then strung up a story to put it all together. But if you needed a bit more padding for the movie, help has arrived.

Wired has dropped "Torn Asunder," which explains what exactly Ethan Hunt gets up to when he goes rogue to track down the Syndicate.
