Rebecca Ferguson Gets Back Into Action For 'Mission: Impossible 6'

‘Mission Impossible Rogue Nation’It’s amazing what one movie can do for a career. After making an impressive turn in this summer’s "Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation" and showing herself every bit as capable as her daredevil leading man Tom Cruise, the phone wouldn’t stop ringing for Rebecca Ferguson. She spent the fall shooting the already buzz-building thriller "The Girl On The Train," starts the new year filming "The Snowman" opposite Michael Fassbender, and is rumored for a role in "Alien: Covenant." Meanwhile, the chatter for "Mission: Impossible 6" has also been growing, and while we now know that Tom Cruise and writer/director Christopher McQuarrie are firmly back, there has always been question mark over Ferguson. No longer.

Showbiz 411 reports that the contract for the actress is "signed, sealed and delivered" and Isla Faust will get back into action in "Mission: Impossible 6." She’s actually not a member of Ethan Hunt’s team of operatives, so it’ll be interesting to see how she’s weaved back in the story. But all they need is MacGuffin and a reason for the characters to cross paths again, and we’re halfway toward Tom Cruise strapping himself to a rocket ship or something for his next bold stunt.

No release date yet for the movie, but production will begin next August.
