Ryan Reynolds is an actor that many know best as the lead in “Deadpool.” However, Reynolds is also a businessman. He’s an owner of Aviation Gin (which recently sold for $610 million, so he’s very, very rich) and of Mint Mobile. And when you have Reynolds as an owner of your company, you better believe he’s going to use his star power whenever possible, such as bringing back comedy legend Rick Moranis for an ad.

Just recently, Mint Mobile launched a new unlimited monthly plan (you can do your own research about that if you desire), and to help announce the news, Reynolds took to social media with a new ad for the product. But we’re a film/TV website, so you know there’s more to the story than just a silly ad campaign for a cellphone company. In the latest video, Reynolds brings back comedic actor Rick Moranis to help sell his company’s plan. Well, really, it’s just an excuse to bring back Moranis and geek out a bit, as the actor has been out of the public eye for decades.
Moranis is a comedic legend who really began his career as part of the sketch comedy series, “SCTV.” His real breakout roles came in the ‘80s when he appeared in the “Ghostbusters” franchise, “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Spaceballs,” and Disney’s “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.” However, in the late-‘90s, the actor left acting to focus on life as a dad. His next big role is supposedly in, “Shrunk,” the Disney+ spin-off of his “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” film franchise.

Clearly, Reynolds is just as big of a fan as most of us are. Not only is Reynolds a funny actor that obviously is inspired by many of the legends of the ‘80s, but they are both Canadian (we all know that those Canadians like to stick together, right?). It’s unclear if Moranis will continue to show up in Mint Mobile ads, but even if it’s a one-time thing, it’s still nice to see Moranis return in some form to make us laugh.
