In a world filled with concern about the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, people need hope and laughter. Something to help alleviate the anxiety, as well as the boredom, that is associated with the weeks of self-quarantining ahead of us. And Adult Swim very well might have the remedy with a new season of “Rick & Morty.”
As revealed on Twitter, Adult Swim is bracing us all for new episodes of its massively popular animated series, “Rick & Morty,” with a new trailer that shows a glimpse at all the craziness that is in store for viewers. To try to sum up a “Rick & Morty” trailer is pretty futile. If you’ve seen the series, you know that the adventures that the title characters find themselves in are often inexplicable and completely bonkers. Basically, the new trailer teases more of the same, which for fans of “Rick & Morty” is plenty.
However, if you’re not a devout follower of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith, now’s the perfect time to use this self-isolation to get caught up before the second part of Season 4 premieres in May. Honestly, if you’re a fan of animated series, or just well-written, funny, and incredibly smart sci-fi, there isn’t a better series on TV right now. That’s high praise for an Adult Swim series, but co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have tapped into something special with “Rick & Morty.”
The new season of “Rick & Morty” debuts on Adult Swim on May 3. And while it took two years between Season 3 and the first half of Season 4, the second half of the new batch of episodes is only premiering five months after the last new entry. Not bad. You can watch the trailer below.
