The story behind Arielle Holmes is a pretty inspiring one. A heroin addict living on the streets of New York City, she was approached by filmmaking siblings Josh and Benny Safdie to play a role in a movie they were working on. But as they talked to Holmes and learned about her life, they encouraged the young woman to write down her experiences, and soon those became the basis of "Heaven Knows What." And it became an award winner, with honors going to the Safdies and Holmes, who also starred in the movie. And when we spoke with her last fall, she had already signed an agency deal, and a few projects to consider. And now, she’s got her next gig lined up.

Deadline reports that Holmes will star in "Fish Tank" and "Wuthering Heights" director Andrea Arnold‘s next effort, "American Honey." She joins Shia LaBeouf in the movie about a runaway teenager who joins the traveling sales crew for a magazine, and winds up partying, falling in love and breaking the law.
Production is already underway in Oklahoma and it’ll be interesting to see the result of Arnold’s sojourn to America.
