Rising Stars Mark Webber & Sarah Snook To Star In 'Jessabelle' From 'Saw 3D' Director Kevin Greutert

nullTypically, a Lionsgate horror flick from "Saw 3D" helmer Kevin Greutert isn't one to grab our attention but their latest collaboration "Jessabelle" has scored two pieces of casting that has forced our hand.

'Scott Pilgrim' star and all-round multi-hyphenate Mark Webber will star opposite rising Australian actress Sarah Snook in the film penned by Robert Ben Garant ("Night At The Museum") which will follow a woman who is forced to return to her father's home in Louisiana when a car accident leaves her without the use of her legs. It's not long before she discovers a mystery surrounding her own birth, as well as an angry ghost determined to destroy her.

Okay, admittedly, the end of the synopsis trails off into genre-land but these two leads are definitely one to keep an eye on. After 'Pilgrim,' Webber has been busy and recently took Park City by storm starring in "Save The Date" and "For A Good Time, Call…" as well as writing, producing, directing and starring in "The End Of Love" along side his own two year old son, Isaac. Snook, meanwhile, was one of the last actresses on David Fincher's shortlist for 'Dragon Tattoo' along with Sophie Lowe, featured in Julia Leigh's "Sleeping Beauty" last year and has a role in rom-com "Not Suitable For Children" opposite Ryan Kwanten. Much of her acclaim, though, has been for her roles on Australian television and theatre.

"Jessabelle" is being backed by Principato-Young Entertainment as well as Jason Blum's Blumhouse Prods., which is most famous for the 'Paranormal Activity' series. [Variety]
