'The Road' Bumped To November 25

A preventative measure to sidestep the bad buzz, and/or at least a way to find some time to work around it? Dimension Films has moved John Hillcoat’s “The Road” from October 16 to November 25.

It will be a wide release. We actually liked the post-apocalyptic film, a two-hander starring Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee, but not everyone does. Even Indiewire, generally sympathetic to arty indie films, the ilk of which the picture belongs to, called it “long and dreary.”

This was in a Variety article from two days ago, which we read, but somehow glazed over. That’s what we get for reading the trades at 6 a.m.
