Robert De Niro Gambles On 'Last Vegas' With Michael Douglas

nullGranted, the premise — some old dudes have a bachelor party in Las Vegas — sounds like it was pitched by a douchebag exec during a studio meeting (and who knows, maybe it was), but if it gives us the opportunity to see Michael Douglas and Robert De Niro spar, who are we to quibble?

That's right, the raging bull himself has officially signed on to "Last Vegas" after rumors that he had joined the project a few weeks back. Penned by "Crazy Stupid Love" writer Dan Fogleman (with Adam Brooks and Alan Yang doing recent drafts), the story revolves around four 60-something guys who head to Vegas for the bachelor party of the last of their group to get married. Douglas will play a man who's getting hitched to a woman half his age and gets his buddies out to Nevada for one last blowout. De Niro has the wet blanket role, playing a dude who doesn't like to party, but still heads to Vegas to hang with his pals.

No word yet if Christopher Walken, who was also rumored for a role, will also come on board. But Douglas + De Niro? Yeah, we'll put up with the lame comedy sketch for them. Shooting starts in September with Jon Turteltaub directing. [Deadline]
