Robert Luketic Eyes New Projects With Liam Hemsworth & Zhang Ziyi

nullRobert Luketic doesn't seem to inspire as much vitriol from fans that the likes of McG or Shawn Levy seem to, but looking at his back-catalogue his cinematic sins aren't inconsiderable. Maybe it's down to his first film, the really rather fun "Legally Blonde," but since then he's made "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!," "Monster in Law," "21" (which this writer must admit to having a soft spot for), and his latest two films have been the irredeemable "The Ugly Truth" and "Killers," both starring Katherine Heigl.

Luketic had been lining up "Brilliant" for his next project starring Eric Bana, but after Bana pulled out of the crime thriller he was replaced by Gerard Butler, but now the director tells the Daily Telegraph in Australia that he's not sure whether that will make it before cameras any time soon.

"I have two films competing with each other," said Luketic, who according to the article took time off after "Killers" to learn how to fly a jet (may we suggest next time taking some time off to learn how to direct movies). "It's now a matter of the stars coming into alignment and small miracles being performed."

Luketic also mentioned that he may be potentially working with one of 'The Expendables' on a future project. No, not Stallone, Arnie, or Stone Cold Steve Austin. Luketic is talking about the in-vogue Liam Hemsworth. "I can't really talk about it but we have had a couple of meetings and he has formally come on board. It will be shot in New York and Mumbai," said Luketic. The article then adds, in a throwaway line, that Luketic also has a revenge thriller in the works starring Zhang Ziyi. So which project are we hoping Luketic makes next? Or are we all united in suggesting that maybe he should book a few more flying lessons? Guess we'll see how it plays out.
