Listen To Robert Pattinson Lend His Vocals To A Song From The 'High Life' Soundtrack

Without a doubt, one of our most-anticipated releases of 2019 is the upcoming Claire Denis film, “High Life.” Marking the Denis’ first foray into English-language filmmaking, the film debuted last year on the festival circuit and comes to US theaters later this spring. As with most films, the impending release date also means the soundtrack will also be available. And in the case of “High Life,” the release of the score also means fans will get a chance to hear the star of the film, Robert Pattinson, lend his vocal talents on one track.

The music for “High Life” was composed by Stuart A. Staples, best known for being the frontman of UK band Tindersticks. And on the track “Willow,” you can hear Staples’ beautiful music accompanied by the voice of Pattinson.

As odd as it may seem that Pattinson is singing on this track, it isn’t the first time the actor has performed this sort of double-duty for a film. He has also performed on the soundtracks for films “The Rover,” “Damsel,” and “Twilight.”

“I felt the score should be intimate and hypnotic”, says Staples (via Fact). “Music made of hands and breath – acoustic instruments, electric guitars, fingertips.”

The “High Life” soundtrack will be available digitally on April 5 and on limited edition vinyl on May 5.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

Monte (Robert Pattinson) and his baby daughter are the last survivors of a damned and dangerous mission to deep space. The crew—death-row inmates led by a doctor (Juliette Binoche) with sinister motives—has vanished. As the mystery of what happened onboard the ship is unraveled, father and daughter must rely on each other to survive as they hurtle toward the oblivion of a black hole. A staggering and primal film about love and intimacy, suffused with anguished memories of a lost Earth, High Life is a haunting, thrilling achievement from visionary director Claire Denis.
