There aren’t many filmmakers out there that have such a following that they have to keep their scripts and projects under a huge veil of secrecy. Normally, the sort of security protecting the details around a film is relegated to superhero projects, “Game of Thrones,” and whatever Lucasfilm is working on. But when it comes to the films of Christopher Nolan, the secrets are just as well guarded. It doesn’t matter if the film is a mind-bending sci-fi action film (“Inception”), a philosophical space adventure (“Interstellar”), or a WWII actioner (“Dunkirk”), you don’t really know what to expect from a Nolan film until you’re in the theater experiencing it for yourself.
And according to actor Robert Pattinson, that’s exactly the type of security they’re using to protect the latest film from Nolan, which at this point doesn’t even have a title.

What we know is that Pattinson, along with Elizabeth Debicki and John David Washington, is set to star in the film, which is being described with adjectives like “massive,” “epic,” and “ambitious.” You know, the same words you use to describe any Nolan feature.
Speaking to USA Today, Pattinson described the level of security surrounding the film, and how he’s “sworn to secrecy” about the details.
“I got locked in a room to read the script – I don’t have it myself,” he said. “I’ve been a little wary of doing big movies for years and years, but there’s just something about Chris Nolan’s stuff. He seems like the only director now who can do what is essentially a very personal, independent movie that has huge scale. I read the script and it’s unreal.”

Pattinson isn’t lying about how he has stayed away from “big movies” for years now. After reaching worldwide superstardom on the back of the “Twilight” franchise, the actor has taken more of a subdued approach to his career, sticking with the small indies for the most part. Of course, this has only led to film fans growing a great appreciation for his talent, which now leads him full circle to maybe the biggest film of his career, the untitled Nolan project.
While we don’t have a plot or title, we do now that Nolan’s next film will hit theaters on July 17, 2020.
