Robert Pattinson Talks Recent Films & How He'd Join A 'Twilight' Reunion "At A Moment's Notice"

Film fans, it’s time for an anniversary celebration! On November 21, 2018, we must all celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the premiere of the film that gave us the love affair between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and spawned a generation of YA copycats. That’s right, we’re talking “Twilight!”

In a new interview with Variety, Pattinson is reminded of this fact and is taken aback by the knowledge that it has been a decade since the film world was introduced to the lives of our favorite sparkly vampires. He joked that he “stopped mentally progressing around the time when I started doing those movies.”

But don’t come at his with that “‘Twilight’ is totally my guilty pleasure!” business. “Whenever anyone says [‘Twilight’]’s their guilty pleasure, it’s like, you say guilty, what you really mean is just pleasure,” he said.

Regardless of your feelings surrounding the “Twilight” franchise, you have to admit that Robert Pattinson has done what very few young actors have been able to do in Hollywood history. The actor successfully went from global heartthrob, with countless T-shirts and posters bearing his smoldering looks, to arthouse darling, collecting a filmography including some of the biggest names in independent and worldwide cinema. Over the last decade, RPatz (as the kids call him) has shed his glittery skin tone and fangs for starring roles in incredible films like last year’s “Good Time” and the upcoming Claire Denis sci-fi film “High Life.”

And what’s the secret to Pattinson’s recent successes? The actor breaks down his career choices, quite simply, saying, “It’s just the stuff that appeals to me.”

That being said, Pattinson isn’t so quick to rule out a “Twilight” reunion. Joking or not, when asked about the potential for a revival of the vampire romance franchise, he said that “the amount of time I’ve spent moisturizing, I am ready to play 17 at a moment’s notice. Ready!”

Now, all he has to do is convince Kristen Stewart, who is clearly down for some big-budget paydays (see “Charlie’s Angels” remake).
