Robert Rodriguez's 'Nerverackers' Shelved For Now; Moved Off Dimension Film's Slate

You saw this one coming given the shooting schedule and current plan.

Robert Rodriguez’ “Nerverackers” has been bumped off the Dimension Films docket. The utopian-sci-fi-noir set in 2085 has been dropped from the Weinstein Company-related studio’s release slate, but Dimension is well known for prematurely announcing projects, so you might have guessed early on this could have happened given the unrealistic turnaround time. And with the slate currently in front of the director (“Machete,” “Predators”), April 2010, is never going to happen.

Rodriguez is currently helping long time collaborator Ethan Maniquis direct the feature-length “Machete” starring Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Lindsay Lohan, Steven Seagal and Michelle Rodriguez (no relation) before moving onto fill his producer boots for the “Predators” reboot. Will he shoot the sci-fi film after these two or will he turn towards another project? Wait and see. And also wait and see if TWC/Dimension is standing next year, because if it isn’t, that will also drastically change things. [BloodyDisgusting]
